Patients on regular medication will require repeat prescriptions and for a safer and speedier service repeat prescriptions are now computerised.
Please allow 48 hours for your repeat prescription to be processed (Bank holidays and weekends not included).
We are not able to issue repeat prescriptions at weekends, on public holidays or outside of normal surgery hours.
The prescriptions query line at the surgery is open from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Due to the large number of requests we process each day and the increased risk of making mistakes, we are unable to take orders for repeat prescriptions over the telephone at the surgery if you would like to order over the phone please contact the MOL on 01246 588860

Medicine Order Line
The MOL is one of many ways for you to order your prescriptions. Our aim is to ensure patients are using a service that most suits them.
A convenient way to order your repeat prescription by simply calling: 01246 588860
Lines are open 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday *These times may be subject to change and exclude bank holidays *
To prevent waiting in a queue, please call later in the week at our least busy times (12.00pm on Thursdays and Fridays). Our most busy times are Mondays, Tuesdays until 2.00pm, Wednesday until 12.00pm and until 10.00am on a Thursday and Friday so we would advise avoiding calling at these times to minimise your wait time.
The Medicine Order Line (MOL) is a way for you to order your repeat prescriptions over the telephone.
Alternative ordering methods include:
- You can order your prescriptions by completing the form online https://www.derbyshiremol.nhs.uk/
- If you have access to the internet / apps, you can also try the below alternative ordering methods. They may be more convenient for you and will also free up the busy phone lines for patients who have no other means of ordering their repeat prescriptions
- Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) - talk to your GP or the person who prescribes your medicines to ask if you can use eRD (batch prescriptions)
The telephone lines are staffed by fully trained Medicine Order Line Operatives (MOLOs) who will go through your repeat prescription and check which items you need. The medication request is processed while you are on the telephone and is then sent electronically to your GP practice to be signed. The prescription will then be sent on electronically to your chosen pharmacy.
