TEMPORARY SYSTEM OUTAGE

Today, on Friday the 18th June, The Surgery experienced Major networking issues, which denied us any access of our Clinical, Prescription and Email systems. The surgery is currently troubleshooting these issues with our local network team and should be working again by Monday the 21st. The team is deeply sorry if this has caused any inconveniences to yourselves and your families. 

 If you have made or requested any urgent medical services or prescription requests, or sent any emails that require urgent medical attention from ourselves that need dealing with before Monday, please contact 111 or your local Out Of Hours service. Or if a medical emergency, please attend your nearest A&E department.

How to access your COVID-19 vaccination status

You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App from 17 May. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or by tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel.

If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to requires COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine. We expect the letter to take up to 5 days to reach you.

Do not contact your GP surgery about your COVID-19 vaccination status. GPs cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status.

Lateral Flow Testing for Coronavirus

There are different tests you can get to check if you have coronavirus (COVID-19). The test you need depends on why you're getting tested.

The 2 main tests are:

  • PCR tests – mainly for people with symptoms, they're sent to a lab to be checked
  • rapid lateral flow tests – only for people who do not have symptoms, they give a result in 30 minutes using a device similar to a pregnancy test

Both tests are free.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19

Get a PCR test as soon as possible if you have any of these symptoms:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

You and anyone you live with should stay at home until you get your test result. Only leave your home to have a test.

Anyone in your childcare or support bubble should also stay at home if you have been in close contact with them since your symptoms started or during the 48 hours before they started.

Regular tests if you do not have symptoms

Anyone can now get regular rapid lateral flow tests without having symptoms.

About 1 in 3 people with COVID-19 do not have symptoms but can still infect others. You should do a rapid test twice a week (every 3 to 4 days) to check if you have the virus.

If people test positive and self-isolate, it helps stop the virus spreading.

Opening Times

The surgery is normally open between:

8:00am - 6:30pm Monday to Friday

Additional pre-bookable extended hours appointments are available each day between 7:00am-8:00am. 

The Surgery's phone lines are available from 8:00am until 6:00pm.

From 6:00pm untill 6:30pm our phone lines are diverted to the Out of Hours Service.

The Practice closes once per month for a half day in an afternoon for training (QUEST) our phones will be diverted to the out of hours service from 1:00pm, for details please see the News Section.

Disabled Access

Reserved car parking spaces for the disabled are marked in the rear car park. Wheelchair access to the building is available. All areas of the building are accessible by lifts and we have a wheelchair for use by patients. Patients' WCs are provided. If access proves difficult to any of our disabled patients we would be happy to consider any suggestions for improvement.
